2013 Acura RL to Feature NSX Hybird Technology

Acura NSX concept will be remembered for a long time for it was one of the most impressive concept vehicles of this generation and it made a statement that performance and elegance can go hand in hand.

Now the same hybrid drive-train that we saw under the hood of NSX will power the new 2013 Acura RL.

The technology is called as Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive and it brings together a couple of electric motors and internal combustion driven front axle; surprisingly unlike any other Acura vehicle with SH-AWD technology, we do not see any direct mechanical connection going to the rear wheels.

The same principle is used in NSX hybrid as well, but the rear wheels are powered by a combustion engine in such a manner that electric motors power the front wheels and gasoline engine powers the rear wheels.
