Company was experimenting with hybrid cars for quite some time and it has displayed its 3 gas-electric “Duo” concept models long back. There are lots of rumors regarding the Q5 hybrid version along with the standard model for 2009, but the plan didn’t work out in a right manner due to fall in fuel prices and automakers dissatisfactions towards nickel-metal hydride batteries.

Now company is planning to offer a 3 liter 6-cylinder diesel engine for Q5 and the diesel is tuned for more performance and hybrid unit for fuel efficiency. The new Q5 hybrid pairs with the 2.0-Liter four-cylinder engine that can deliver 211-horsepower. The base Q5 has an electric motor with 54 Horsepower.
