The all new hybrid from Peugeot 3008 is world’s first diesel hybrid vehicle. A 2.0liter engine drives the front wheels while the rear wheels are powered by an electric motor. The pricing of the vehicle ranges from 26,995 pounds to 28,495 pounds. The vehicle comes with a 3 year or 60,000 miles warranty.

Under the hood lies a 1,997 cc 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine, which generates 163hp and then there is an electric motor that churns out 37bhp. It reaches the 0-62mph mark in a respectable 8.5 seconds and the hybrid attains a top speed of 118mph.

The engine is mated to an electronically controlled 6-speed manual transmission system that can also be used in auto mode with the help of shift paddles than can be seen behind the steering. These are so seamless that at lower speeds you won’t even realize that the diesel engine has cut off.

Within city limits 3008 returns 68.8 mpg, on highways it returns 72.3 mpg and the combined gas economy comes around 70.5 mpg. CO2 emissions are recorded to be 104g/km and there is a different 99g/km edition as well.

The net length of the hybrid is 4365mm, the net height is 2113mm, and the total height is 1639mm.
